United Way annual Diaper Drive returns to the Southern Tier

SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. (WETM) – United Way of the Southern Tier has launched its annual Diaper Drive to help families in Chemung and Steuben counties who are in need.

From now until May 10, community members will be able to contribute to the drive by donating a variety of baby items that will be given to families who need help keeping a supply of items for their babies.

City of Elmira to provide residents new garbage, recycling bins

If you’re interested in helping, United Way is looking for the following items:

  • Diapers sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7

  • Pull-ups sizes 3T-4T, 4T-5T and 5T-6T

  • Overnight diapers

  • Baby wipes

  • Plastic sippy cups

  • Baby formula

  • Baby food

  • Baby cereal

Those who are looking to donate to the drive have a variety of options to choose from. Different contribution methods can be found below:

  1. Purchase items off of United Way’s Amazon wish list. All items that are ordered will be shipped directly to United Way of the Southern Tier.

  2. Drop off self-bought donations at the following locations:

    • Bath

      • Subway located at 322 West Washington Street

      • Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

    • Corning

      • Corning Credit Union located at One Credit Union Plaza

        • Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

      • United Way of the Southern Tier located at 88 East Tioga Avenue, Suite 102

        • Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    • Elmira

      • Chemung Canal Trust Company located at 1 Chemung Canal Plaza

      • Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    • Hornell

      • Hornell Area Family YMCA located at 18 Center Street

      • Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  3. Purchase items online from any vendor and ship to:

    • United Way of the Southern Tier

    • 88 East Tioga Avenue, Suite 102, Corning, New York, 14830

The deadline to donate is May 10. All items will be distributed to programs in Chemung and Steuben counties that serve young families.
