United Just Announced a New Route to Europe As Part of Its Largest-Ever Summer Schedule

The airline will be heading to Faro, Portugal for the first time in May of next year.

United Airlines is on the move by debuting its largest summer flight schedule in the company’s 97-year history.

On May 24, United will begin a new flight route to Portugal's southernmost city: Faro, the airline announced on Thursday. The new route, departing from Newark Liberty International Airport, will operate four times a week to give travelers the opportunity to visit Faro — a destination Travel + Leisure has referred to as the "California of Europe.

United will also bring back several popular seasonal summer flights, including a daily offering from Newark to Reykjavik, Iceland on May 23.
