Popular Japanese retailer Uniqlo has announced a new collection with an interesting charitable twist.

The high-street brand’s upcoming Batik Motif range has been created to benefit the women working in its Indonesian factories, with a cut of all sales set to fund projects to help them boost their education and learn a range of living skills.

The new line has been created using the traditional Indonesian Batik print — a pattern created by joining multiple dots and lines. Items will be available for purchase starting June 10.

This isn’t the first time the company has pledged to help the women who work in its factories. Back in April, Uniqlo launched a program to help empower female employees in Bangladesh. The women created a collection inspired by the country’s traditional saris and since the project launched, a survey has shown the workers have seen a great improvement in their working environment. Morale and health standards are up and there’s been a 36 percent decline in sick leave.

With hundreds of Uniqlo stores worldwide, it’s great to hear that the conscientious brand is trying to give something back.
