But with a new decade in full swing, this spring's trending nails colors are just as surprising as the weather.

At the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Lucy Boyton paired her cotton candy-colored tulle gown with unexpected half moon nail art, while Cynthia Erivo went with classic glossy black nails for the 2020 Golden Globes.

The black nail polish inspiration doesn't stop at the red carpet.
