This Under-$150 Jacket Has Become an Instant Spring Closet Staple
It's giving "stealth wealth" vibes.
Editors' Picks are the Fashionista team's true (#notspon) fashion and beauty obsessions, handpicked by professionals who see it all.
As much as I love patterns and prints, recently I've been getting more into minimalist fashion and the currently ultra-trendy "stealth wealth" aesthetic.
That's how I landed on the Aritzia Babaton Pelli Hip Shirt Jacket — when I saw it in stores, I knew it would instantly become a wardrobe staple. As someone from Vancouver, I've been shopping at Aritzia for quite some time, particularly because the brand just consistently do basics so well.
The garment features a relaxed, oversized fit with dropped shoulders, a pointed collar and a button-down front. A hip-length hemline and slouchy pockets add to the overall laid-back vibe. The jacket is available in a range of colors, but my favorite might be the "Rich Mocha Brown" — an understated yet elegant chocolatey hue.
Despite being made from vegan leather, the jacket has a soft buttery texture and a slightly stretchy feel that makes it super comfortable to wear. Plus, the fit and cut make it easy to layer over a variety of outfits, from simple T-shirts to chunky sweaters. The jacket also works well with both pants and skirts, making it a great option for anyone who wants a versatile piece that can be dressed up or down now for warmer spring days.
It's become an instant spring wardrobe staple for me — and with a price tag under $150, I'm not about to gatekeep.
