Umm, You Need to See the Baby Yoda Balloon Before Tomorrow’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Mandalorian star Grogu (AKA Baby Yoda or The Child) is preparing to make his NYC debut. And no, this is not a drill.

Fans recently received a sneak peek at one of the massive helium-filled inflatables that will soar over the streets of New York in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Grogu balloon recently went for its very first test run, and—thanks to cooperating winds—it was a huge success.

The Baby Yoda inflatable was modeled after Funko’s popular figurine, which features the green character dressed in a luxurious brown robe. (FYI, the collectible toy company used to specialize in bobbleheads but has recently expanded its offerings to include games, figures and more.)

Designers even added a silver ball balloon to make it look like Grogu is reaching for the keepsake.

When the inflatable makes its official debut, it will become the first Star Wars-themed balloon to grace the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year’s event will be broadcast on NBC from 9 a.m. to noon and will feature performances by Carrie Underwood, Kristin Chenoweth, Darren Criss, Andy Grammer, Nelly and Kelly Rowland. If you don’t have cable, you can also stream the parade through Peacock, Sling TV, Fubo TV and more. (For more streaming options, click here.)

In a statement, Funko CEO Brian Mariotti said that he hopes the balloon is well received by fans. “Funko has had some pretty terrific brand milestones, but this is epic,” he said. “[The parade is] a massive moment for our brand, our employees and our fans.”

We. Can’t. Wait.
