Umbrella Academy's Tom Hopper Designed His Entire Kitchen From Scratch And It Will Give You Major Home Envy
Umbrella Academy star Tom Hopper showed us inside of his real home kitchen, and we have major home envy. The space, which was designed completely from scratch, has everything from convenient trash can placements to a fully stocked fridge of veggies.
The area has a countertop, island, and a large sliding door that leads directly out to the backyard. "We designed this whole kitchen from scratch and it was quite important that we had this big opening when we wanted kids," Tom said: "I wanted to be able to look into the garden and see the kids and socialize with people out here while I'm still cooking."
His herb garden is also right outside of the sliding doors, so he can easily grab from it when cooking up a dish inside. Tom said that the design choices of the kitchen were very specific, like his cutting board that is conveniently placed on the counter right above the trash cabinet so he can sweep any leftover food from it right into the garbage.
As for the food that is almost always in his kitchen, Tom's answers are a little bit all of the place...and we love him for it! Cacao powder is a staple for when the kids want something sweet; he'll whip up an easy keto muffin with coconut flour. Other items like eggs, ghee, tons of vegetables, and, yes, even anchovies, are other foods Tom loves to use in his cooking.
He said you'll never find sugar or processed food in his kitchen because they try to cook everything as fresh as possible. Sounds good to me...so, uh, where's my invite?
