Uma Thurman Walks the Red Carpet With Son in Rare Appearance

Uma Thurman took over the red carpet in a beautiful warm-toned ensemble at the Cannes Film Festival opening, surprising everyone with her date for the event: 21-year-old son Levon Thurman-Hawke.

The two walked the carpet hand in hand, sharing smiles here and there. Uma wore a light pink-colored Dior Haute Couture gown with a lush red overcoat.

The actress paired the dress with a few pieces of statement jewelry, including a matching beaded Chopard choker necklace. Levon wore an elegant classic tuxedo and bowtie.

The pair walked the opening red carpet and premiere for the film Jeanne du Barry before Uma presented Michael Douglas with an honorary Palme d’Or trophy for his accomplished work over the course of his career.

Uma shares Levon with her ex-husband, Ethan Hawke, whom she was married to from 1998 to 2005. The two also share 24-year-old daughter Maya Hawke.

Both Levon and Maya are following in their parent's footsteps, with the former set to appear in the upcoming series The Crowded Room and the film Pussy Island, which will be actress Zoë Kravitz's directorial debut.

Maya has gained fame for her role as Robin Buckley in Stranger Things, and she will be in Wes Anderson's next film, Asteroid City.

The whole family is set to appear at the Cannes Film Festival this year, as Ethan is already there to promote his short film Strange Way of Life, co-starring Pedro Pascal and directed by Pedro Almodóvar.

Asteroid City will have its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival soon, so Maya should appear as well as a star of the film.

Along with Levon and Maya, Uma has a 10-year-old daughter named Luna Thurman-Busson with former fiancé, Arpad Busson.

Ethan also has two younger daughters, Clementine, 15, and Indiana, 12, whom he shares with wife Ryan Shawhughes Hawke. The two have been married since 2008.
