Um, Shailene Woodley Might Have Just Spoiled the Entire Ending of ‘Big Little Lies’
Shailene Woodley might have spoiled the ending of Big Little Lies on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night.
She said there will be a major twist at the beginning of the finale, surrounding Perry’s body.
Shailene Woodley might have just legit spoiled the entire ending of Big Little Lies while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, and if what she says is actually true, the finale of this show is going to be INSANE.
Here’s how it went down. Jimmy joked with Shailene that HBO wouldn’t even give the show a clip of the final episode. That’s how much they’re keeping this under wraps.
However, in exchange, they let Shailene share a spoiler. Here’s what she said: “This whole time, they’ve said don’t say anything. So people ask what the show is about and you can’t give anything away. But they did say I could say this: In the beginning of the next episode, it’s a little bit of a cliff-hanger, but all the women go to visit Perry’s grave and his body is missing.”
Umm...
Jimmy asked for clarification, though, because a cliff-hanger would imply that that happened at the *end* of the episode and there would be a third season of the show. “Oh no, I mean, that’s the beginning of the next episode, so you still have an hour to figure out...” Shailene explained.
“That’s technically not a cliff-hanger,” Jimmy reminds her.
EITHER WAY, that’d be major, if true. There are a few things about this that need to be discussed, though, because it’s slightly confusing.
First, if HBO had told them the entire season they couldn’t spoil anything, why would they let Shailene give this MAJOR spoiler before the finale?? On a talk show?? It’s possible they’re trying to distract fans with faux spoilers. Keep that in mind.
Also, while she says this happens at the beginning of the episode, they’ve really loved their flashbacks this season, so the rest of the episode could just be flashbacks, meaning that their discovery of the lack of a body could really be the end of the whole thing.
