Um, Kate Middleton Just Got a (Henna) Tattoo & Wore a Hard Hat in the Same Day

The royal family is really letting loose this week.

Yesterday, Prince William rode a motorcycle, and today Kate Middleton got a tattoo (it was henna, but still) and wore a hard hat.

The duchess also visited the Fire Station, a historic building in Sunderland, England, that was just converted to an artists’ hub. And in a total Sandy-at-the-end-of-Grease-level transition, K-Middy took a local artist up on her offer to give the duchess a brown henna tattoo.

If that wasn’t surprising enough, Kate and Prince William then headed to the construction site of the Northern Spire bridge over the River Wear, where the mom-to-be topped off her Dolce and Gabbana coat with a reflective vest, hard hat and safety goggles.

Color us royally shocked.
