  • Kate Bosworth just dropped a new Instagram that gets into the nitty gritty of her health and wellness routine while prepping for her Roxy campaign.

  • Kate also took the moment to show off her super-toned abs in some workout pics.

  • The actress gave a shoutout to her trainer of five years, and talked about how the two work together to create sustainable, long-term habits.

In case you missed it, Kate Bosworth is the new face of Roxy. (If you’ve ever seen Blue Crush, you'll get it.) It was hard to miss how super strong and toned in the campaign, and apparently, a lot of people were asking Kate what she did to prep for her shoots. Well, the 40-year-old actress just shared a post on Instagram that explains what she did to get so strong.

Kate dropped a long message and lots of workout photos that feature her stretching in a gym (while showing off six-pack abs and sculpted legs, of course). In the caption, she broke down how she got that way, noting that she’s “never felt better.”

“I am super proud of my strength in our recent @roxy campaign, feeling more optimal now than I did 20 years ago running around in a swimsuit for ‘Blue Crush,’” Kate wrote. “A lot of you have asked about my fitness routine, nutrition, and what it’s been like working with my coach, Steph Watson, so I wanted to highlight her and share how it works…”

Kate goes on to explain that Watson created a “super simple plan” for her that helps her make sustainable, long-term health habits. “She helps me navigate all my traveling in the summer with easy food choices and a wholesome, healthy nutritional plan,” Kate wrote. “Regardless of how busy I get with my chaotic schedule, she provides fun, short (but tough!) workouts to tone // sculpt in order for me to look and feel my best - no matter where I am in the world.”

Kate revealed that she’s worked with Watson for more than five years. “She has focused my mind // body connection through her highly efficient and specified training, which I will (unquestionably!) use lifelong,” she wrote. “I could go on and on about her knowledge + brilliance in the health / wellness space… AND she happens to be one of my favorite people on the planet. So it will not shock you to learn that she gets my emphatic endorsement.”

By the way, here's a shot of Kate from the Roxy campaign, looking strong all over:

But Kate doesn’t just work with Watson. She revealed on Instagram in 2020 that she does P.volve workouts, too, which are low-impact workout classes that use small ranges of motion and functional movement to build strength and toning.

Kate told Women’s Health in 2020 that she’s moved away from high-intensity workouts like running and weight training in recent years. “The way my mindset has changed over the last couple of years is from high-intensity workouts being most important to a mindset that’s more focused on a fitness from a longevity and vitality viewpoint," she said. “I not only feel the healthiest I’ve been in my body, but I also feel the healthiest I’ve been in my mind and my heart.”

When it comes to her eating plan, Kate told National Geographic that she looks at food as fuel, especially when she’s working. “I eat a lot of really good complex carbs, like sweet potato or chickpeas, protein, and a lot of vegetables," she said.

Love the campaign, Kate!
