Although ultra-realistic cakes are nothing new to social media, a recent compilation video shared on Twitter is causing people to doubt the very fabric of time and space.
The instigating clip — which features mostly cakes made by a Turkish cake and sugar artist — was shared on BuzzFeed’s Tasty Twitter account on July 8, with the simple caption, “These Are All Cakes.”
Little did their social media manager know, all hell was about to break loose.

Since the video was shared, it has racked up over 31 million views, as well as countless replies and reactions from people who just don’t know who or what they can trust not to be cake anymore.
The year is 2030. Bakery art is so realistic, literally anything could be cake. The uncertainty has gripped the world in fear. I go to hug my wife for comfort. She is cake.
