The National Hockey League is that friend who tries way to hard to be cool when they don’t have to.

They can just be themselves and everyone will like them, but insist on going that extra, desperate, mile to prove just how hip they are. On the best day of the hockey calendar—the one on which the postseason begins—the NHL released a video of Snoop Dogg explaining what it means to win the Stanley Cup and what makes it so unique.

So don’t worry you squares, the NHL is here to ramp the cool-factor up to 100, via this 46-year-old rapper:

Kind of funny, kind of lame, kind of just ‘whatever.’ Notice the time of the tweet? Yeah? This is so damn clever and the coolest thing this league has ever done. The former part of that sentence was sarcasm but, unfortunately, the latter part was not. This might actually be the coolest thing the NHL has done in years.

Don’t get me wrong, I loves me some Snoop, but let’s just say it’s a good thing hockey is awesome on it’s own, because this league is lame as hell.
