FRANCESCA MURRAY: Hi, and welcome back to "In The Know-- Out of a Suitcase" where we take the hassle out of travel. I'm Francesca, and today we are talking packing tips and tricks.

The trick to any successful trip is to pack in a smart and compact way. It's also important to consider space and safety at all times. To ensure smooth travels, it's worth investing in quality luggage. Carry-ons, like this one from Beis, ensures safety with TSA locks. They also give you ample space with an expandable design.
So when I purchase new luggage, I tend to look for something hardshell because it's more durable, and it just looks chic. But what about the inside of your suitcase? I suggest getting smaller pieces to organize your items. These packing cubes from CALPAK allow you to divide your items into categories so that they don't get misplaced. I like to use packing cubes because they help me to pack more efficiently and find what I need more easily.
