If you're still thinking about Nia Dennis' incredible gymnastic routine that went viral earlier this week, you're in good company. Former First Lady Michelle Obama tweeted about Nia, and the gymnast, of course, could not get over it.

"That is so insane," Nia told Ellen Degeneres while talking about the tweet on The Ellen Show on Thursday. "Oh my gosh. Michelle Obama, first of all, I love you. I was speechless." Nia revealed that she found out about the tweet in the middle of a practice. "Literally, all of my teammates came over to me and we were all just cheering and so excited."

The former first lady shared a video of Nia's routine on Tuesday afternoon. "Now that’s what I call fierce!" she wrote. "You’re a star, @DennisNia!"

Nia is hoping that the fact that Michelle posted the entire video of the routine means that she's watched it multiple times. "Not only did she tweet me, she actually posted the entire video," Nia said. "So, that means she has to have it, like, in her camera roll or something and just must watch it in her free time maybe? Anyway, love her."

While talking to Ellen, Nia expanded on the importance of the viral routine. "This routine, I believe, is a reflection of everything that I am as a woman today." She also explained her choice in music. "I picked a lot of really influential artists, Black artists that had a huge impact in the Black community. For starters, Kendrick Lamar, you know, he's a huge activist in his music. We're not allowed to use words and sounds in our floor routine. So, I figured if I wasn't going to be able to say it, I wanted to do it in a different way and shine light on gymnastics."

It seems clear that Nia is changing the nature of gymnastic with each one of her floor routines. Keep an eye on her, she's bound to continue to flip the sport on its head (get it?).
