The EDR in Finale was not without controversy. The race was held on a hot day. To make sure all riders completed the 5 stages in time, transfer time limits were tight, and didn't give much time for recovery between stages.

Noga Korem dropped out of the race after Stage 3 because she nearly crashed after dropping into the stage tired from hoofing it to make the transfer time cut.

Bex Baraona was able to finish but had similar complaints about the transfer time.

This begs the question if professional enduro might be better served by returning to the two-day format of the past to lessen the effect of logistical and time constraints of trying to complete a race in a day?

The EDR will return in less than a week in Bielsko-Biala, Poland, the home country of Slawomir Lukasik. Lukasik will be hungry after he led the race into the final stage before a flat tire took him out of contention.
