If you still don’t have any summer vacations planned, Aeromexico just made it a bit easier to book one, by offering round-trip fares to Mexico starting at $144. Yes, the airline has fares well below the $450 average for the months of May through September, despite it being the high summer travel season.

And this isn’t just from one destination. Whether you’re on the East Coast or West Coast of the country, these low fares are good for at least 12 cities in the U.S., including Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and more.

Now, maybe you’re saying to yourself, summer beach trips are best reserved for winter. Well, the Mexican flag carrier has you covered there, too. The discounted fares aren’t just good for beachy locales like Cancun and San Jose del Cabo, but also for popular cities like Oaxaca and Mexico City. Both spots have become food and cultural epicenters, making it the perfect time for a visit while European cities are overrun with tourists during the summer months. Bonus: Because all flights are on Aeromexico, you won't even have to pay a fee for a checked bag—meaning more cash for food, art, or that new bathing suit.

Some of the flights, including ones originating in Los Angeles, Houston, Washington, D.C. and Miami to Mexico City are nonstop. Other routes, like Chicago, Orlando, and Las Vegas to Cancun, have a short stop in Mexico City both ways.

To book: There are several ways to find these low fares. Google Flights is an excellent starting place, but Aeromexico fares don't always show up right away in the search engine. If you're having some trouble, try doing a +/- 3 day flex search in Kayak, instead. Pro tip from Scott Keyes of Scott's Cheap Flights: Once you've found the cheapest dates you like, search them in Momondo to get the absolute best price; be sure to click the "see similar results" button beneath the top fare if it has a long layover that you're not interested in. Oftentimes there are much better routes for only a handful of dollars more. The fares are expected to last for a few days.

Sample fares to Cancun:

  • Austin: $206

  • Chicago: $206

  • Dallas: $219

  • Fresno: $221

  • Houston: $144

  • Las Vegas: $165

  • Los Angeles: $204

  • Miami: $174

  • Orlando: $174

  • San Antonio: $175

  • San Francisco: $206

  • Washington D.C. Dulles: $247
