U.S. to London from $465 Round-Trip

A price war has multiple airlines going head-to-head for your ticket (and us contemplating Turkey Day overseas).

No one needs an excuse to go to London. But incase you’re looking for one, Virgin, Delta, American, British Airways, United, and Lufthansa are all currently serving up pretty attractive autumn prices on flights to the other side of the pond. As of now, flights from 29 U.S. cities (and counting)—including west coast hubs like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Portland—to Heathrow are hovering in the $400s and $500s round-trip; almost half of the $850 they’d normally cost.

We first spotted the flights thanks to deal guru Scott Keyes, of Scott’s Cheap Flights. And since then, to compete with the American Airlines flights, Delta has added participating cities to the deal. Most of the options—excluding Portland and Washington’s Ronald Reagan—are non-stop, too. Since no low-cost carriers are included, your bag flies free.

Travel dates vary a bit by destination. There are some spring flights, but most hold for fall and winter travel—September through February 2018, including Thanksgiving. (There’s your excuse to leave!)

Beyond the year-round musts—strolling streets lined with Victorian townhouses in Notting Hill, exploring the landmarks of Westminster, or getting lost in Kensington’s museums—a fall trip to the U.K. would offer sports fans an opportunity to see NFL games at Wembley or Twickenham or tennis at the O2; and spirits enthusiasts the chance to taste and pair their way through the city’s Cocktail Week in early October.

Tempted? Move fast. Keyes says he expects the deals to only last a day or two.
