It feels like deals to Europe and Asia are popping up left and right these days, but as veterans who have been burned before by waiting too long to book a flight deal, if this $400 to $500 fare to London piques your interest, book it. Like, today. The nonstop flights on British Airways normally retail for about $850 round-trip (or more from the West Coast), which means travelers who book this low fare are getting upwards of 50 percent off. Six lucky cities across the U.S. are in on this deal, including Boston, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Los Angeles, New York (JFK and Newark), and Philadelphia, with the most expensive fare still a low $580 from Oakland.
Availability for this deal depends on the departure city, but for the most part you can find discount fares between September 2017 and March 2018, including Thanksgiving. Need some seasonal inspiration? In the fall, check out the U.K.'s first ever large-scale Basquiat exhibition at the Barbican Art Gallery. Winter brings weather that's, well, less than ideal, but ice skating at Somerset House is a must and is usually open between November and January. In the early spring, make sure to pack some packable rain boots and plan around flowers blooming at any of the city's royal parks. And, of course, whatever season you decide on, make sure to check out Traveler's favorite bars and restaurants in London. You won't regret it.
How to book: Start at Google Flights. Use the search engine's calendar feature and green highlighted lower fares to find the least expensive dates. You'll have a day or two to book but Scott Keyes of Scott's Cheap Flights warns that this could sell out so, we'll say it again, if you like this deal, book away. You'll have 24 hours to cancel for a full refund. Remember, since British Airways is a full-service airline, you won't have to pay for a checked bag.
If you have a British Airways Chase card, you can get an extra 10 percent off on all flights booked through December, so make sure to take advantage of the extra discount here and use the promo code "CARDOFFERU" at checkout if you're eligible.
