U.S. to Colombia from $335 Round-Trip

Colombia in the summertime for under $400 is the stuff dreams are made of.

Bar-hopping through cobblestone streets in the historic neighborhood of La Candelaria, a cable car trip up to the 10,300-foot-high church on the peak of Monserrate for views of a city on the rise, a Dionysian steak-and-booze-fueled party at the legendary Andrés Carne de Res: If any or all of these appeal to you, you are probably going to enjoy Bogotá, Colombia's cosmopolitan capital, in the summertime. And now—like right now—is the time to book that vacation, as there are round-trip flights available from 17 different U.S. cities for as low as $335.

The deals can be found on American Airlines, Delta, and JetBlue, depending on what airport you are flying out of, and even though most of the trips include short stopovers (besides direct jaunts from Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale) it's a deal that's too good to pass up. The low fares can be found scattered across the year extending all the way until March 2018, but the real sweet-spot is August when, thanks to the city's 8,675-foot elevation, temperatures hover in the 60s (although you should remember to pack an umbrella). Here's the full list of departure cities with sample fares spotted by Scott's Cheap Flights:

Atlanta (ATL) - $363

Austin (AUS) - $369

Charleston (CHS) - $335

Charlotte (CLT) - $361

Cleveland (CLE) - $363

Dallas (DFW) - $363

Denver (DEN) - $363

Detroit (DTW) - $363

Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) - $348

Houston (IAH) - $363

Jacksonville (JAX) - $355

Minneapolis (MSP) - $363

Orlando (MCO) - $365

Philadelphia (PHL) - $363

Phoenix (PHX) - $363

Seattle (SEA) - $367

Washington D.C. (BWI) - $361

Apart from the must-dos mentioned above, Bogotá is also the country's cultural center. A museum showcasing the gold crafts of the country's Pre-Columbian indigenous societies as well as one devoted to the artist Fernando Botero are just two of many museums housed in immaculately preserved colonial buildings across the city. Just make sure you don't tire yourself out during the day—Bogotá knows how to party and you'll quickly learn to pace yourself with the aguardiente, the country's anise-flavored spirit that has been known to sneak up on many an overenthusiastic reveler.

How to book: Head to Google Flights (sample search) and use the fare-calendar matrix to check out possible dates; the lowest fares will be highlighted green. Be flexible—with both airline and departure date—to score the best deal. Just make sure you do it soon. Scott Keyes of Scott's Cheap Flights predicts these will be gone come tomorrow.
