Tyler Posey is opening up about his sexual identity.

In a new interview with NME, the Teen Wolf alum got candid about his current relationship, along with his sexuality. While discussing his romance with musician Phem, Tyler reflected upon the strength of their romance, and how being involved with her has helped him understand his own identity. “I’ve been with everybody under the sun, and right now I’m in the best relationship that I’ve ever been in with a woman, and she’s queer too,” the actor and musician explained. “She’s helped me realize that I fit under the queer umbrella and that I’m sexually fluid.”

Tyler first publicly addressed his sexuality after creating an OnlyFans account last fall, when a fan asked him if he’s been with both men and women. The actor told NME that he was accused of “gay-baiting” after coming out as sexually fluid, describing the comments from fans as “really cruel,” while noting that some of them even went as far as to discuss his mother’s death. “I’m sober now and I’ve been working a lot on my mental health, so I’m in a place where I can somewhat laugh at that kind of thing,” he explained. “But I know that other people who deal with this kind of sh*t may not be as strong mentally.”

In a previous interview with Variety, Tyler reflected upon his coming out, calling it a “split-second decision,” and explaining that it was “easier for me to just be honest about all that stuff.”

He went on to note that it felt good to be able to connect with fans who might be going through a similar journey, sharing that his father was especially supportive after he came out publicly. “My dad called me after all this came out — I never told him anything about this stuff — he called me saying, ‘Hey, buddy. Just making sure you’re OK. I don’t want you to get overwhelmed or stressed out,’” Tyler recalled while speaking with Variety. “Fortunately, my dad was awesome. I’ve told people, kids who are worried about telling their parents my dad’s reaction, and they’re like, ‘Okay. Well, maybe my parents won’t be so hard on me if I tell them.’”
