Tyler Perry Posted a Thirst Trap and Opened Up About His 'Midlife Crisis'

As 2020 comes to a close, it’s natural for people to reflect on the end of a challenging year and focus on new beginnings. Judging from actor Tyler Perry’s most recent Instagram post, it's clear he's among those who are embracing the chance to do some major self-reflection—literally, in this case.
The Madea’s Family Reunion star took to his Instagram account on Wednesday to shed some light on what’s going on in his personal life, all while showing off his relatively svelte physique in a mirror selfie. Posing in workout gear, Perry revealed he not only split from long-time girlfriend Gelila Bekele, but that he’s struggling to figure out how to move forward going into 2021.
“This is what a mid-life crisis looks like,” the House of Payne producer captioned the photo. “I’m 51, single and wondering what the next chapter in my life will look like.”
Despite Perry's recent rough patch, however, he seems to be approaching his next phase of life with optimism.
“Whatever it looks like, I’m going to walk with God, be the best father I can be, hold my head up high, and try to look my best doing it!!!,” he ended the post's caption. “In a world with so much sadness, please try and stay in the good!”
Perry’s emotional statement had an immediate impact on his 6 million followers. Some lended their support with comments like “Thank you for this! Inspiration at its best! 💛” and “Keep that heart big bro...it’s the kind we need...💯❤️.” Perry's celebrity pals also chimed in, with Mario Lopez commenting, “Let’s gem em TP!”
Others, well, decided this was the perfect time to shoot their shot. “God sent me to tell you I’m your wife,” one commenter wrote to the actor. Another follower added, "I'm single 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀😍😍😍."
But perhaps nobody summed it up better than the commenter who replied, “TP said single. The man is about to receive a Tsunami of DM’s from women 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.”
