We're with the fans on this one–a reunion should absolutely happen.

Abbott Elementary fans have one request for producers ahead of next season: reunite Tyler James Williams with his former Everybody Hates Chris co-star Vincent Martella, who played Greg Wuliger on the early 2000s sitcom.

Talks of the potential reunion came about after one fan tweeted a screenshot of the two actors from their days starring on the show, which ran from 2005 until 2009, adding, "imma need these two to reunite on abbott elementary."

Just over 24 hours after the original tweet went viral, Martella responded to the tweet with confirmed interest.

"im incredibly down for this reunion to happen if @quintabrunson is!" he exclaimed, tagging Quinta Brunson, creator and co-lead (starring as Janine Teagues) in the award-winning ABC series.

A day later, on Feb. 11, Martella followed up to his original statement, seemingly in shock by how well-received the idea was, "if twitter dot com somehow makes this happen i will never stop laughing."

As of writing, his original response has accumulated over 235.9K likes, 19K retweets and 1.2K quote tweets, with much of the added commentary coming from fans practically begging for a reunion to happen and even offering up ideas for his future character arc.

"@quintabrunson Yes we need this!! I can feel the looks from Jacob already!!" one Twitter user cried out, sharing a short clip of Chris Perfetti in character as the school's history teacher.

"this would be cute imagine he’s like a new teacher at abbott and him and gregory get along really well which makes jacob jealous cause he’s not the fave white boy in gregory’s life," someone else suggested.

"You need to play a character named Chris since Tyler is playing a character named Greg," another fan joked.

In addition to an incredible number of simple "yes!" and "I need this" comments tagging showrunners, it's clear that this is the reunion fans never knew they needed, but now can't live without.

Even if the reunion doesn't come about, Martella did get one thing out of his viral tweet: public recognition for his voice acting in the Disney Channel original animated series, Phineas and Ferb.

"PAUSE, I didn’t know you were Phineas," one internet user admitted upon their recent revelation that the actor is the voice of one of the lead characters on the show which aired from 2007 until 2015.

"Why have i just found out that Greg from Everybody Hates Chris also played Phineas???" another asked, sharing a side-by-side of Martella as Greg and Phineas.

"ferb i know what we’re gonna do today," someone else replied, quoting a catchphrase from the beloved animated series, to which Martella responded, "that’s my line."

Abbott Elementary was renewed for a third season, so it's possible Martella could make an appearance in the near future–here's to hoping fans' dreams come true (ours included)!
