Tyler James Williams Adds Floral Detail to Pin-striped Suit at Golden Globes 2024

Tyler James Williams arrived on the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday wearing a light brown pinstriped suit with a statement floral boutonniere, a white shirt and a skinny black tie.

To create his look for this year’s Golden Globes ceremony, Williams worked with stylist Ilaria Urbinati, who also works with Chris Evans, Barry Keoghan and James Marsden.

“I’m one of those people who has a really small waist and wide shoulders, so Ilaria worked to put this look together piece-by-piece, and it was just one of those looks you put on and it fits like a glove,” Williams said to WWD on the red carpet.

Williams’ oversize pants are a trend for spring, as evidenced by the runway shows during Fashion Month. “I love a flare, I feel like women shouldn’t be the only ones to have flow on the red carpet — men should have that chance as well,” Williams said.

Williams accessorized his look with an 18-karat yellow gold chain from David Yurman and a vintage Cartier watch.

“I’ve had a long relationship with Cartier, and I love their pieces because there’s something about them that is not only just timeless, but not too in your face either,” Williams said. “There was no other choice here and this is all I need.”

“Abbott Elementary,” the hit ABC sitcom that Williams stars in, is nominated for Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy at this year’s ceremony. In 2023, Williams took home the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series — Musical-Comedy or Drama for his role on the show.

The 81st annual Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, celebrate the biggest achievements across film and television in 2023. It is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by WWD parent Penske Media Corp. Ahead of the ceremony, WWD hosted its first real-time red carpet digital show, hosted by Jeannie Mai, highlighting the looks from the red carpet arrivals. On Monday, WWD will reveal the winners of its Style Awards during the red carpet recap on wwd.com/golden-globes at 10 a.m. ET.
