TWO RIVERS – The Washington House Museum in Two Rivers is celebrating its seasonal opening with a free event May 26.

Over winter, several exhibits were updated and volunteers will be available at the event to showcase the improvements made to the historic building.

Doors will open at noon May 26 with live music, a scavenger hunt, free concessions and self-guided tours of the museum, which is at 1622 Jefferson St.

Adults who complete the scavenger hunt will win a "BOGO" token from Cool City Brewing Company and children will win assorted trinkets.

Ed Berners' Ice Cream Parlor will be open for business with 18 flavors available for any variety of cones, floats and sundaes.

The Ruby Sundae will also be available, one of the parlor's most popular treats made with butter pecan ice cream topped with fresh rhubarb sauce, hot caramel sauce, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry.

The museum's season runs May 26 to Oct. 31 with hours of noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays-Mondays. The museum will be closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
