These Two Colors Were Everywhere on the Emmys Red Carpet

The stars pulled out all the stops for the 75th Annual Emmys red carpet, from jeweled feather gowns (we're looking at you, Issa Rae) to princess-inspired dresses. But as more celebrities arrived, we spotted not one, but two major color trends that dominated this year's red carpet. The top contenders? Red and black.

Since the color red also took center stage at the 2022 Emmy Awards, several stars kept the momentum going with their show-stopping ensembles, whether they were channeling their inner Jessica Rabbit or opting for ballroom-inspired dresses. Keep scrolling for some of our favorite looks in this year's most popular colors.

Also on board with the red trend was Abby Elliot, who wore a red Alexander McQueen gown, Sarah Snook, who rocked a red Vivienne Westwood number and Janelle James, who turned heads in Rodarte. (P.S., you can see all of their looks in our full red carpet roundup).

Laverne Cox, Emily V. Gordon, Zanna Roberts Rassi, Christina Ricci, Elizabeth Debicki, Tyler James Williams and Riley Keogh also made lasting impressions with their black outfits on the Emmys red carpet (see even more of these fab looks in our fashion roundup).

Clearly, these stars understood the assignment.
