The New Twix Salted Caramel Cookie Bars Are Finally Coming to the U.S. This Fall

Our taste buds got extremely jealous in 2020 when the Twix Salted Caramel bar was released in Europe. After all, who doesn’t want a new candy bar gracing their candy aisle? It might have taken some time, but Mars Wrigley has announced that Twix Salted Caramel Cookie Bars are coming out sooner, rather than later, in the U.S.
You might be wondering what’s so great about these new bars that can’t be found in the original. Well, the classic Twix bar is made with a shortbread cookie that’s layered with caramel and covered in milk chocolate. This new variety consists of salted caramel, crunchy cookie, and milk chocolate. If you think about it, the salt is the real star, because it creates a whole salty-sweet experience.
“We’re thrilled to bring better moments and more smiles to fans by introducing TWIX Salted Caramel, the perfect treat for those who favor cookie & sweet and salty flavor combinations,” Michelle Deignan, Mars Wrigley senior brand director, said in a press release. “While TWIX fans will still need to pick a side when it comes to choosing between right TWIX or left TWIX, they will no longer have to decide between a sweet or salty treat with TWIX Salted Caramel.”
The Twix Salted Caramel Cookie Bars will begin rolling out at select retailers in September 2021. It will become available nationwide beginning in 2022 in Single (1.4 ounces) and Share (2.8 ounces) sizes. While we have yet to taste the new bar ourselves, it’s fair to say that if it’s made its way across the pond, it has to be good.
