This Twitter User Shared Photos Of A Pot Her Roommate Destroyed And It’s SO Upsetting And Relatable

Unless you’re one of the lucky ones who has either (1) never had to live with a roommate or (2) always had roommates who you were perfectly living-compatible with (is that even possible?), chances are you’ll relate to this tragic melted pot scene a Twitter user recently shared.

The tweet fittingly says: “In case you ever think your roommate is dumb... let me one up you.” She...wins. Of everything I’ve encountered, this is definitely one of the most distressing. It’s not an easy sight to look at. It makes you wonder what the roommate was doing—what was so distracting, so important—that she let the kitchen tool melt to that level of bad.

Twitter did what Twitter does best and reacted with jokes and demands for an explanation. The user who shared the photos, @_aniebananie9, responded to tweets saying that the roommate in question hasn’t revealed what happened or addressed the situation at all. She told Delish that’s still the case. And y’all, it has been over two weeks since the Melting Pot Disaster of 2k19! Thankfully, she contacted management and didn’t have to pay for it or clean it up. So, at least there's that.

If there’s one service this tweet does—besides bring up unwanted memories of roommates who have broken one-of-a-kind mugs or left week-old dishes rotting in the sink—it makes you appreciate what you have. It could always be worse, right?
