Kylie Jenner shared a preview of the new love-themed Kylie Cosmetics collection ahead of its official launch on Feb. 3, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The collection features two matte lip kits, a lip gloss set, a lip balm set, a pressed powder palette, blush sticks, a highlighter and false lashes.

But Twitter certainly isn’t feeling the love from Jenner this year. Several users have accused the brand of ripping off another makeup line by RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Trixie Mattel. Mattel launched Trixie Cosmetics in 2019 with heart-shaped packaging that looks very similar to what Kylie Cosmetics is putting out for this new product drop.

“The way Kylie Jenner has literally never had an original idea or concept and relies on the brilliance of queer people and their ideas to profit off of and pretend they’re her own concepts — it’s actually getting ridiculous at this point,” one Twitter user posted. “Trixie Cosmetics is huge — and anybody worth their two cents working in makeup knows this is Trixie’s packaging.”

This is not the first time Jenner — or, really, anyone in the Jenner-Kardashian family — has been accused of stealing designs. In 2017, The Daily Beast wrote an expose on how Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian profit off of Black creativity after some people accused them of copying designs from smaller, and sometimes even struggling, Black designers.

Mattel apparently commented on the accusation on Thursday. In a video uploaded to Twitter, you can see Mattel applying their own heart-shaped lip gloss while over a screenshot of the Kylie Cosmetics collection.

“Breaking my silence and addressing the situation,” Mattel captioned the clip.

Other Twitter users pointed out how unnecessary it was for Kylie Cosmetics to release new makeup collections for every holiday every year.

“At this point [you’re] selling the same colors in new packaging,” someone pointed out. “So wasteful. This is a subtweet to Kylie Cosmetics. I see the same thing recycled every holiday.”

Kylie Cosmetics launched in November 2015. The company launched its first Valentine’s Day collection in February 2016, and followed with another in February 2017 and 2019. In addition to four Valentine’s Day collections, Kylie Cosmetics has also released six birthday collections, six holiday collections, two Stormi-themed collections and at least one collaboration collection with each of her four sisters and her mom.
