Twitter Slams the Claim That Kim Kardashian’s $18,000 Opal Grill “Destroyed the Game”

No, this time it actually has nothing to do with questionable Photoshop skills on Instagram photos—it has everything to do with Kim Kardashian recently investing in an opal-and-diamond-encrusted grill for her bottom teeth reportedly worth $18,000 that a random person on Twitter dot com says “destroyed the game.” Let’s discuss!

But first, here’s a fun fact: Grills first started becoming really popular—predominately throughout the ’80s to the mid-2000s—thanks to hip-hop culture, where Black rappers would often rock them as a fun way to show off their wealth. So the fact that Kim Kardashian was credited with “destroying” the grill game understandably rubbed more than a few people online the wrong way. The grills and tweet in question:

Rapper Smino hopped on Twitter to respond and simply wrote “cap,” which in this case means that Kim winning the grill game is a lie.

People in the comments of Smino’s post agreed and provided proof that he actually did an opal grill in 2020 before Kim did. Nelly also responded to the discourse on Instagram, writing in a Shade Room post, “Yessserr my nephew @Smino already been did that…hard for stl to get our credit tho…!!”
