Ever since Arya and Gendry made eyes at each other over the forge in the first episode of Game of Thrones, it was game on. The young Stark assassin needed someone to make her a special weapon, and her childhood pal Gendry was just the blacksmith she needed; she headed down to the forge and showed him a drawing of an unusual item she wanted. Sparks flew from the hot metal, but also from their spicy glances.

In the second episode, the duo met up again, and their gazes were even more overt this time around. Arya asked Gendry what the wights were like, so she could prepare herself to fight them. She wanted all the details she could get, and he told her that they were just like death.

That might be considered weird flirting for anyone, but for these two, it was as good as you can get. Arya upped the chemistry when she threw three daggers at the same spot on the wall, to prove that she would be able to take care of herself in a fight. Gendry was impressed, to say the least.

You know who else was impressed? Twitter, which soon exploded with people observing the combustible tension between the two friends. Here's what fans had to say about the heat between Arya and Gendry.

BUT THEN!

When Gendry came to find Arya and give her the weapon she had commissioned, they exchanged much more than just fighting gear. After he handed over the double-edged staff, she asked him how many women he'd been with. (Three, if you want to know.) Arya was like, "Well, make that four!" and proceeded to jump his bones. Classic night-before-battle-we-might-die stuff!

The steamy rendezvous had people googling "How old is Arya Stark?" (According to the Game of Thrones fan wiki, she's 18. PHEW.) and, of course, posting memes and reactions:
