  • Lady Gaga gave an amazing performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

  • Some fans think she wore a Hunger Games mockingjay-inspired pin on her jacket.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s inauguration is coming to a close (yay!), and alongside the many politicians, viewers also saw a bunch of celebs who stopped in to perform songs. Lady Gaga was the first to sing to the nation and took the stage for a beautiful rendition of America’s notoriously-hard-to-sing national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Although Gaga’s vocals dazzled everyone, it was really her outfit choice that got internet peeps talking.

Twitter was quick to point out that Gaga’s dress was giving off maaaaajor Hunger Games vibes. Gaga’s ensemble, a navy blue cashmere jacket with the poofiest red mermaid skirt I’ve ever seen, was adorned with a beautiful gold pin…that totally resembled a huge mockingjay, the official symbol of the Hunger Games franchise.

Aaaaand the reax:

IMHO, Gaga’s hair is also giving off Katniss and Prim Everdeen undertones. Just look at the amount of work that went into her gorgeous braid! The fans are truly being fed today.

Gaga’s look is custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture designed by Daniel Roseberry. “As an American living in Paris, this ensemble is a love letter to the country I miss so dearly and to a performer whose artistry I have so long admired,” the designer said in a statement, per Harper’s Bazaar.

While it’s briefly amusing to think of the inauguration taking place in District 1, please note that this is not the Hunger Games (thank god) and Gaga’s pin actually *isn’t* a mockingjay—it’s a dove holding an olive branch, which is meant to symbolize peace, grace, and mercy. All things we’ll need these next four years, don’t you think?
