Twitter Hilariously Compared Kanye West Yeezy Runner Shoe to Crocs

Throughout fashion history, we've been truly blessed with some out of the ordinary trends. It seems like only yesterday social media was talking about janties and now, Kanye West has emerged with what's been dubbed the "Yeezy Croc."

The rapper is no stranger to the world of fashion, having frequently made statements on the red carpet with his various fits, and now he's announced a new footwear endeavor, Complex reported. On Thursday, September 12, the Twitter account Yeezy Mafia shared leaked images of a shoe that Kanye is reportedly working on.

Called the Yeezy Foam runner, the all-white shoe is reportedly based on a clog, and has been previously secretly sported by his daughter, North West, Complex noted. The shoe is allegedly set to debut in 2020, but thanks to social media, the jokes have already started, and many couldn't help but compare the shoe to another famous footwear brand — Crocs.

Naturally, Twitter came prepared with memes, writing, "You vs. The Guy She Tells You Not To Worry About," next to an image of a Croc and the Yeezy Runner. "Crocs... those are Crocs," another follower declared. And one person even decided the shoe is the official answer to all of our problems, writing, "This. This is what the world needed. A yeezy croc."

Without any official word from Kanye it's impossible to know whether Crocs might have provided some inspiration for his shoe, but jokes aside, Crocs are pretty popular. Ariana Grande just sported a pair in a selfie and lest we forget, Post Malone unveiled his own line of Crocs that sold out in minutes. Recently, Crocs also became a fashion staple, with Barneys unveiling a punk version of the shoe while Urban Outfitters unveiled a tie-dye Croc.

Only time will tell whether the Yeezy Runner becomes the next superstar shoe.
