Twitter Is Absolutely Roasting the Chainsmokers Over Their Super Bowl Pre-Game Performance

For reasons that appear to have confused and baffled the internet, the Chainsmokers were invited to perform at the *glances down at notes* NFL TikTok Tailgate presented by Intuit TurboTax Live ahead of the Super Bowl LVI at Los Angeles’s SoFi Stadium.

This was obviously a TikTok event, but apparently, um, parts of the Chainsmokers’ set were televised during NBC’s Super Bowl LVI Pregame Show. And while the Chainsmokers seemed pumped (they released a statement saying, “We are so excited to be returning once again to the SoFi Stadium campus to headline the NFL TikTok Tailgate on Sunday before Super Bowl LVI! After two years off the map, we couldn’t be more grateful to the NFL for this opportunity. We can’t wait to see you there”), Twitter was…not!

People didn’t hold back on roasting the duo for their performance, and some gems that can be found on Twitter include, “I just almost cried laughing at this Chainsmokers performance,” “The NFL is singlehandedly keeping the Chainsmokers afloat,” “Yesss, go the Chainsmokers, give us ✨nothing ✨,” and my personal favorite: “How much did the Chainsmokers get paid to make themselves the butt of every joke on Twitter before the Super Bowl starts.” Wait, and also shout-out to, “The Chainsmokers are the musical equivalent of unseasoned chicken.”

Anyway, these and more below 😊:

Wow. Awk times to be a Chainsmoker. Also, before we go:
