'Twisted Metal' Live-Action Series Coming to Peacock

According to reports, the live-action adaptation of iconic PlayStation game Twisted Metal is set to arrive on Peacock. The action-comedy series co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Universal Television will feature half-hour episodes.

Twisted Metal stars Anthony Mackie as John Doe, who also serves as an executive producer for the Electric Avenue production company, written and executive produced by Michael Jonathan Smith, who also serves as showrunner.

The live-action adaptation will center around John Doe who happens upon a strange package in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that offers him a chance at a better life. Taking part in a vehicular combat tournament hosted once a year by "Calypso" offered to patients of the Blackfield Asylum. The winner of the enigmatic tournament that destroys all his opponents is granted one single wish by Calypso.
