The internet is about to get divisive again over Team Edward and Team Jacob. The hit 2008 vampire and werewolves film, Twilight is set for a series adaptation at Lionsgate TV.

Variety confirmed that the series will be based on the Stephanie Meyers young adult novel series of the same name. Previously adapted into a successful film series starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, the show currently does not have a writer or a network/streaming service attached to the project. According to sources close to the project, Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feige are attached to the series as executive producers.

The original film franchise, known as "The Twilight Saga" featured five films, released between 2008 and 2012. As for the books, there were originally four Twilight books that were published between 2005 and 2008. Meyers later published another book titled, Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined in 2015 which gender-swapped the two main characters, Bella and Edward. The news for the new Twilight series comes after Warner Bros. Discovery also announced that they will be taking the beloved Harry Potter books and turning them into a series.

In other entertainment news, Netflix has reported adding 1.75 million subscribers in Q1 2023.
