"Twilight" Actor Gregory Tyree Boyce Passes Away
Gregory Tyree Boyce, a 30-year-old actor that starred as Tyler Crowley in the first Twilight film has died, BBC News reported. According to USA Today, the actor, along with his girlfriend Natalie Adepoju were both found dead in their Las Vegas, Nevada home.
Clark County Corner John Fudenberg, who is overseeing the investigation into the deaths, confirmed the news to USA Today. The cause of the deaths hasn't been determined, and investigators are awaiting the results of toxicology reports, Fudenberg told USA Today. Boyce leaves behind a ten-year-old daughter.
Fans of the first Twilight film might remember the actor, as he played a central role in one part of the movie. As BBC News notes, Bella Swan portrayed by Kristen Stewart, is nearly hit with Tyler's van on an icy day. However, Bella is rescued by Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson. According to Deadline, Boyce also starred in one additional film, a 2018 short film titled Apocalypse.
Following news of his death, Boyce's mother shared a tribute to her son on Facebook, confirming that he was due to open a restaurant business. The two had last seen each other on May 11, the post confirmed.
Fans of Twilight also paid tribute to Boyce, sharing memorial posts to the star on Twitter. “Rest in Peace to Gregory Tyree Boyce—Tyler from Twilight. Too young. Praying for his family and friends,” one fan wrote. Another Twitter fan reflected on the importance of his role in the Twilight films, writing, “It’s because of him that Bella finally starts thinking about Edward as something not human.”
As E! News reports, Boyce had recently turned 30 in December. At the time, he had shared an Instagram post celebrating the occasion, writing, “At one point I didn't think I would make it to see 30 years old. Over the years like everyone else I have made mistakes along the way, but today is one of those days I only reflect on the great ones. What a time to be alive."
