TWICE Release YouTube Documentary "Seize the Light" About 2019 World Tour and Global Success

Global pop sensation TWICE is ready for fans to experience their journey like never before with the release of new documentary series, TWICE: Seize the Light.

The new YouTube Originals series, first episode out April 29, follows the K-pop group on their TWICELIGHTS world tour during 2019. Over the course of eight installments, fans will get to experience TWICE's trajectory up-close as they spread their catchy songs, infectious charm, and messages of self-love and perseverance on a worldwide scale.

"We recently completed our World Tour that first started last May, so it’s been quite a long time," TWICE told Teen Vogue over email. "We believe this series will show a new side of us. Fans and public will be able to see how TWICE was born, our trainee years, and our story of growth. We hope you enjoy the series and getting to know us."

In the series, the members of TWICE share behind-the-scenes looks at performing and also talk about the emotional experience of being one of the most popular groups in the world right now. Fans get to see their relationships with each other, and how those tight bonds ground them as they reach new professional heights. TWICE formed back in 2015 and features nine members — Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. Since then, the group has released a history-making series of big albums and high-profile singles including "Like OOH-AHH," "Fancy," and "Feel Special." They've also grown a massive, dedicated fanbase known as ONCE.

That success has not come without trials, and the group has been vocal about supporting members through mental health struggles. Member Mina took time away from group activities last year, including parts of the tour, as she dealt with an anxiety disorder. Both fans and her fellow members supported her through that; as rapper Dahyun told TIME in 2019, “Physical health and mental health are the most important things that members should take care of." Mina has since rejoined TWICE onstage, and the documentary shows all nine members back together for interviews that reflect on their shared history and growth.

In addition to the YouTube series, it's already been a big week for the nine-member girl group, which announced their 2020 comeback will happen on June 1 at 6 p.m. KST with the new song, "More&More." The news comes after a February announcement that TWICE's parent company JYP had partnered with U.S. label Republic Records to promote the work of their artists — starting with TWICE — on an even broader level.
