Tucson Community Raises Nearly $100k For Paralyzed Mountain Biker

A Tucson mountain biker suffered a paralyzing crash while riding in Catalina State Park a little over a month ago. The 34-year-old father reportedly went over his bars landing on his head completely fracturing his C5 vertebrae.

Jordan McEldowney has a long road to recovery and the support of the community will be integral in his process.

Here is a news report from KVOA Tuscon about the incident.

A GoFundMe has been set up for McEldowney and as of November 8th, has hit nearly 100 thousand dollars in donations.

McEldowney's road to recovery is expected to be over a year and will include an extended stay at a specialized rehab facility. The family is asking for money to help with the cost of the whole recovery process as well as the modifications they will have to make to their home to accommodate Jordan.

We at BikeMag extend a heartfelt condolence to the McEldowneys and wish them the best for this recovery and we hope to see Jordan make great progress and get back out on the bike in some capacity.
