Trunk Archive has teamed with the artist representation agency Art Partner in a new alliance.

By doing so the image licensing company is tapping into Art Partner’s extensive stable of well-known photographers. David Sims, Mario Sorrenti, Alasdair McLellan, Angelo Pennetta, Mert & Marcus’ Mert Allis and Marcus Piggott, Harley Weir and Tyler Mitchell are among those the company represents. Their work — as well as many other high-profile ones — will now be available to clients in search of content for projects, luxury branding, editorial purposes, product collaborations and other endeavors. They and others will now make their work available for licensing exclusively through Trunk Archive.

Art Partner’s resources include portraits of hundreds of notable actors, musicians, artists and models, as well as fashion stories, landscapes, still lives and moving imagery. The Art Partner Collection available on Trunk Archive will include never-before-seen images along with many recognizable images.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed Tuesday.

With offices in New York, London and Paris, Art Partner is a creative agency that canvases fashion, luxury and technology. The company offers such services as developing social media, product consulting, content creation and crafting cultural experiences for the world’s leading fashion and luxury brands. Since it was started in 1990 Art Partner has worked with such brands as Gucci, Burberry, Michael Kors and Zara, as well as investing in and helping to launch brands with its own artists. Art Partner also has longstanding ties to LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Kering, Richemont, Puig and Prada, and magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, The Gentlewoman, Dazed, i-D and Self Service.

The collaboration came together after discussions between both teams led to them recognizing the “mutual benefits of consolidating licensing activities,” said senior executive director of marketing Jamie Tredwell. Art Partner’s focus on nurturing and advancing their artists’ careers is in step with Trunk Archive’s licensing knowhow and is expected to lead to enhanced opportunities for both parties, Tredwell said. “The collaboration will better serve our clients and the creative community at large.”

Meanwhile, Trunk Archive has a diverse clientele across the commercial, editorial, decorative and publishing sectors. It represents the archives of such highly regarded photographers as Annie Leibovitz, Ellen Von Unwerth, Helmut Newton, Inez & Vinoodh Nadine Ijewere, Nick Knight, Steven Klein and William Klein.

Declining to specify the length of the agreement, Tredwell said via email, “Both parties are fully invested in the success of this partnership for the long term, thus there is not a defined end date.”
