Truly Hard Seltzer Is Now Making Ice Cream, So Summer Is Saved

I don’t know about you guys, but summer so far hasn’t really felt like summer. While it’s true much of the country is reopening, many states are still sheltering in place and practicing social distancing to help combat the coronavirus pandemic. Because of this, all the big parties and gatherings that would typically fill up my weekends are nonexistent. 

But Truly Hard Seltzer is supplying some much-needed summer fun in the form of new boozy ice cream flavors. The brand partnered with Tipsy Scoop (which specializes in alcohol-infused ice cream) to create some truly (eh?!) delicious spiked seltzer treats. The ice cream pints have up to 5% ABV and come in these flavors: Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet, Mango Lemonade Sorbet, Lemonade Ice Cream, and Black Cherry Lemonade Ice Cream. If you’re not a fan of boozy ice cream, all these flavors are available just as spiked seltzers, too: Truly Strawberry Lemonade, Truly Mango Lemonade, Truly Original Lemonade, and and Truly Black Cherry Lemonade. And there are plenty of fun ways to drink these bad boys. A few weeks ago a trend emerged online of people making slushies out of their hard seltzers. (I made one myself last month and highly recommend it.) 

So will boozy ice cream become the cocktail of summer 2020? The jury’s still out on that one. After all, every summer has had a signature…something. Remember when Aperol spritzes were the only thing people were drinking? Or when liking rosé was basically an entire personality type? People who decide to adopt boozy ice cream will be the most fun of them all. I can feel it.
