We Tried The New Cracker Jack Pepsi And Even We're Surprised By Our Review

In yet another food crossover we never saw coming, Pepsi teamed up with Cracker Jack to make the ultimate baseball season drink. The classic flavor of Pepsi cola mixed with caramel, popcorn, and peanut flavors may not be something you think you'd reach for on the shelf, but we got to try it early and can confirm it's actually pretty good. You can pick your jaw up off the floor now.

Pepsi x Cracker Jack is the latest limited release beverage from the soda brand, following releases of PEEPS Pepsi and Apple Pie Pepsi in the past. "Pepsi is a brand with a deep legacy in sports and is an endemic part of the ballpark experience," said Todd Kaplan, Pepsi VP of Marketing, "so we thought it would only be fitting to help fans celebrate the biggest month in baseball with our latest limited-edition drop."

I poured the Pepsi over some ice to give it a fair chance and was actually pleasantly surprised. Full transparency, I'm not much of a soda person, so I wasn't expecting to enjoy it at all. It tastes like a normal Pepsi—only with a slight trace of caramel aftertaste that isn't overpowering. I wouldn't say it tastes overtly like Cracker Jack, but I actually think that's probably a good thing.

Arguably the best part: Each can of Pepsi x Cracker Jack comes with a seal you can peel to reveal a special temporary tattoo, just like the ones you used to get in the bottom your Cracker Jack bags when you were young. Nostalgia has never tasted so good.
