Trek Bicycle, in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has announced a recall of all Allant+ 7 e-bike models with Tektro brakes. You read that correctly—every single Allant+ 7 e-bike with these brakes is affected by this recall. The official model names of the affected e-bikes are:

Allant+ 7

Allant+ 7 Lowstep

Allant+ 7S

Allant+ 7 S Stagger

Trek is recalling these e-bikes because the brake hose, manufactured by Tektro, can get damaged if it interferes with the headlight or headlight mounting bracket found on the Allant+ 7 models.

If the brake hose is damaged to the point of being cut, it could result in loss of rear brake function. If this happens while a person is riding, the rider could lose control of the bike.

As part of this recall, Trek is asking consumers to stop riding the bike and to contact their local Trek retailer to schedule a service appointment for inspection and/or repair, as needed.

Trek will provide—through an authorized Trek retailer—a replacement headlight mounting bracket and rear brake hose, if warranted, at no cost. In addition, when you bring your affected bicycle to a Trek retailer, Trek will issue a $10US/ $13CAD in-store credit that can be used toward any Trek or Bontrager merchandise. The credit is good through December 31, 2023 and has no cash value.

Trek Customer Care can be reached at 1-800-373-4594 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT or online at www.trekbikes.com.
