Travis Kelce

While most of us keep our high school photos under lock and key, Travis Kelce is happy to boast his own.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end once shared a glimpse at his younger self on social media, "living his dream" as he celebrated a game day in his own backyard—something he'd clearly worked hard for.

The photo was posted on Instagram on Nov. 4, 2018, and found a teenage Kelce sitting on a bench next to a blue cooler. He wore a baseball cap and a white football jersey and looked seriously at the photographer, rather than smiling. Though his hands are blocking half his jersey, it looks like he was number 7 on the Cleveland Heights Tigers' football team.

Plastered on the wall behind him were a series of posters, including a handwritten one that seemed to feature a few team agreements, signed by all of the players, and one that featured some anatomy illustrations—perhaps showing common sports injuries.

"#GameDay in my backyard... Just a kid from the #Heights living his dream!!" Kelce wrote alongside the photo, referencing a game against the Cleveland Browns at their stadium in Cleveland, Ohio that same day—which the Chiefs won 37-21.

He looks a bit younger than in the throwback prom photo from his senior year that recently had fans of the tight end swooning, so we're guessing this was taken during his junior year—his first on the team, according to Sporting News.

Kelce is a 2008 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, where he played quarterback on the team. As a senior, he totaled 2,539 yards of offense—including 1,016 yards rushing, 10 touchdowns, and 1,523 passing yards on 103-of-198 attempts, with 21 total scores and eight interceptions, according to his alma mater—which resulted in his being honored as an All-Lake Erie League quarterback.

He and his brother, Jason, were both inducted into their high school's Hall of Fame in 2018.
