Taylor Swift supporters may have started the running joke that the pop star put Travis Kelce "on the map," but a resurfaced photo from Halloween proves that football fans fell in love with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end long ago—and for good reason.
In a years-old picture collage shared via Instagram on Oct. 27, 2015, the pro athlete can be seen dressed up as a superhero while visiting hospitalized children. Kelce brought smiles as he gifted kids with stuffed Shadow Buddies dolls, costumed in a red eye mask and cape along with white football gloves, Kansas City Chiefs printed shorts, a dark grey Nike athletic shirt and a snapback fitted cap representing the Midwestern city.
"Had an amazing experience visiting the kids at @kumedcenter pediatric unit. Teaming up with @shadowbuddies to enjoy some Halloween trick-or-treating! #SuperShadowBuddy," the upload was captioned.
Though now eight years old, the comment section of the wholesome content proved that the two-time Super Bowl champ made his way into fans' hearts long before his romance with the "Cruel Summer" singer.
"The absolute best pic out of all of em! 😍 #Manofmydreamsmaterial," one said at the time, while another followed up with, "thought the video where you danced to quan was when I fell in love with you....but then I saw this. The sweetest!!!"
"You are my new favorite baller. 😍," a third confirmed, while an additional social media user commended the act, writing, "Great guy being a great sport. Nice work."
Someone else gushed, "Omg you're the best!!! I knew I loved you for a reason besides how dashing you are on and off that field. UGH."
One even shared their own personal experience with a Travis encounter from the day: "My daughter was inpatient when you did this. You made her day....and mine!! 😍 she loves her shadow buddy!"
So, from the looks of it, the Catching Kelce alum cemented his status as a heartthrob long ago, and in this case, for all the right reasons.
