What Travis Kelce's Mom Donna Really Thought About Meeting Taylor Swift

After breaking her silence on son Travis Kelce's romance with Taylor Swift on the podcast Got It From My Momma, Donna Kelce appeared on the Today show, where she spoke about her reaction to the high-profile relationship.

On the morning of Friday, Oct. 6, Hoda Kotb said that it's been fun watching Donna in the box at games standing next to Swift. "Was that the first time you'd met Taylor?" she asked about the viral photos from the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Chicago Bears game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 24.

Donna responded, "Yeah, it's fairly new so…I don't like to talk about it. It's just one of those things where obviously everybody saw me. I was in the box with [Taylor] and it's just another thing that's amped up my life."

Savannah Guthrie then asked for her first impressions of the pop star. Donna appeared to not want to share much about their interaction, only sharing, "It was OK."

She then explained that she doesn't want to divulge information about her son's private life, noting, "I'll talk about my life and when the kids were little and I was with them, but they're men now. There isn't a man alive that's going to talk to their mom about their personal life. It's just not gonna happen."

Elsewhere in the chat, the Today show hosts were curious about how the 70-year-old is handling the overwhelming attention.

Guthrie exclaimed, "Donna Kelce, this is your life! How about that?" The mom admitted, "It's really awesome." She added, "It's really morphed into something I could have never, ever expected."

Hoda Kotb also commended her for embracing the spotlight "so beautifully, and then asked, "All of a sudden, you are thrust into the middle of every conversation. People know you on the street, they see you with your sons. How have you adjusted to this?"

Donna confirmed that it's been "kind of crazy" and joked that she felt like she was "part of an alternate universe."

She continued, "It's fun, it's a great ride. You know, at times it gets a little annoying but most of the time, people are just so sweet, so kind, so generous…what kind of mother doesn't like to hear that their kids are great?"
