The New York Times published a casual article about the masterplan to make Travis Kelce famous, and it's truly a fascinating look behind the curtain. For starters, Travis' managers André and Aaron Eanes have always intended to make him "as famous as The Rock," and it looks like it's working.

“People say to me, ‘Man, it’s been a crazy year,’” Aaron Eanes said. “When I say, ‘Actually, it’s not that crazy,’ people look at me funny. It’s because it’s easy when you have a plan. We’re executing that plan.”

But as the New York Times notes: "no, the plan did not include Taylor Swift." Meaning, Travis' increased spotlight as a result of dating Taylor has nothing to do with the plan to make him famous. In other words, nope, their relationship is not a PR stunt! (Went ahead and put that in bold for good measure.)

That said, Travis and Taylor's relationship has broadened Travis' fanbase to include "female fans of all ages" versus mostly men between 18-49. As C.A.A.'s co-chairman Richard Lovett put it, “The awareness of Travis is much larger and with an even broader audience. It’s accelerated that which was probably inevitable in terms of his level of awareness and appeal.”

In other words, even more opportunities are open to him heading into 2024—though his team is worried about oversaturation and plan to be more curated with their approach going forward. Regardless, André Eanes says “We positioned Travis to be world famous. We didn’t know how it would happen, or when it would happen, or what would help push that further along. But it’s always been the thought in the back of our minds.”
