Travis Kelce is defending his kingdom amid reports he’s been performing better when his girlfriend Taylor Swift is in the stands.

On 22 October, the Kansas City Chiefs came out with a sweeping win against the Los Angeles Chargers, maintaining their undefeated record as the 2023 Super Bowl champions. And while many could argue the team’s winning streak is due to their key chemistry and talent, others have suggested a not-so-secret good luck charm appears to be the cause of Kelce’s improved stats.

During the Sunday game, CBS broadcasted a comparison report of the NFL star’s stats from the matches Swift has been at and those she was absent from. The chart indicated Kelce’s come up with twice the number of yards received, and produced 52.5 yards more, at the games the Grammy winner attended. Furthermore, in all four games the “Fifteen” singer has been present for, the Chiefs were victorious.

Kelce addressed the speculation surrounding his performance during this week’s podcast episode of New Heights with his brother Jason.

After his stats were repeated back to him, the professional athlete said: “Hard for me to wrap my head around that.” He then joked about the graphic CBS made, which read “Left to his own devices,” a reference to Swift’s song “Anti-Hero.”

“Left to his own devices.’ Well put,” he added.

But while Kelce may not be able to comprehend having a good luck charm, Chiefs coach Andy Reid is welcoming the idea - so long as the team continues to perform as they are. In fact, he invited Swift to continue coming to their games.

“I love Coach Reid, man, what a guy,” Kelce added on this week’s episode. “Listen, when you’re getting Big Red’s approval and blessings, you know you’re doing something right. Shout out to Chiefs’ kingdom, way to get it done, baby.”

The “Enchanted” artist’s first experience in “Chiefs’ kingdom” was on 24 September. This was also the first time Swift and Kelce seemingly took their relationship public, leaving Arrowhead Stadium together to go attend the post-game celebration at Elite Social, a local tavern.

A week later, Swift continued her NFL experience by showing up for the Chiefs game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Not only did the powerhouse vocalist continue to mingle with “Mama Kelce” during the game, but she brought her A-list squad with her, which included Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Sophie Turner.

On 12 October, Swift travelled back to Kansas City before she and Kelce spent the entire weekend together in New York City.

Most recently, the pair left Arrowhead Stadium on 22 October to celebrate the team’s win at Kelce’s new $6m mansion. According to Page Six, Kelce moved from his previous residence so he and Swift could have more privacy.

Mecole Hardman Jr’s partner Chariah Gordon took to Instagram to share images from the Chiefs after-party hosted by Kelce. In the pictures, the couples could be seen posing together while Swift kissed Kelce on the cheek.

A source speaking to Entertainment Tonight recently confirmed Swift and Kelce to be “all in” with each other.
