Travis Kelce’s dad reveals the ‘very special’ thing he noticed about Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, is showering Taylor Swift with compliments after chatting with the singer during one of his son’s recent games.

For months, Swift and Travis Kelce have sparked dating rumors as she has attended four Kansas City Chiefs’ games to cheer on the tight end and his team. During a couple games, the 33-year-old pop star was spotted celebrating the NFL player’s touchdowns with his mom, Donna Kelce. When the Chiefs faced off against the Denver Broncos for a game on Oct. 12, cameras caught Swift also getting to know Ed Kelce.

Ed Kelce spoke about meeting the “Lavender Haze” singer in a recent interview with People magazine, gushing about her “charming” personality.

He told the publication that Swift is “a very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman” and “very genuine.” He praised her intelligence, too.

“She’s very smart,” he said. “I mean, very. That comes through right away.”

“I’ll tell you something very special that I noticed about Taylor the first time I met her,” the proud dad added.

He continued, “We’re sitting in the suite, she gets up and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around. Because in the suites everybody gets stuff and you empty it down wherever you can.”

Ed Kelce pointed out that her behavior was unexpected for someone who is one of the biggest singers in the world.

“And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo,” he said. “She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really, to me, said a whole lot.”

Ed and Donna Kelce were married for more than 20 years before they decided to divorce. The former couple, who are parents to Travis Kelce and older brother Jason Kelce, discussed their split in the recent documentary “Kelce.”

“If we had split as we probably both would have preferred, that would have been a nightmare with the logistics, getting kids where they had to be and providing all the support,” Ed Kelce explained.

On her sons’ “New Heights” podcast, Donna Kelce said that despite their breakup they have remained “friends to this day.”

Like Ed Kelce, Donna Kelce has also opened up about her conversations with Swift.

The Kelce matriarch appeared on the 3rd Hour of TODAY earlier this month and said the two were simply chatting about commercial breaks when the cameras zoomed in on them during a Chiefs game.

However, she wouldn’t confirm or deny her son is officially dating the Grammy-winner.

“It’s fairly new, so I don’t like to talk about it,” Donna Kelce said while talking to Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb on TODAY. “It’s just one of those things where, you know, obviously everybody saw me. I was in the boxes with her and it’s just another thing that’s amped up my life.”

When asked if they were in a relationship, she replied, “I honestly can’t tell you. It’s just too new.”

While Momma Kelce has been tight-lipped, the two have appeared to grow closer. They've been spotted out and about while holding hands and Swift planted a kiss on Travis Kelce's cheek while posing for pictures after watching him defeat the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 22.
