Travis Barker Went to Robert Kardashian's Grave to Ask for Permission to Marry Kourtney

Travis Barker made a sweet gesture of respect to Kourtney Kardashian's family before proposing to her.

In Thursday's episode of Hulu's The Kardashians, fans got to see footage of Travis's phone call with Kris Jenner, when he asked her for permission to marry his eldest daughter.

Kris recounted the emotional moment in a conversation with daughter Kim Kardashian. She said the Blink-182 drummer made sure to also ask Kourtney's late father, Robert Kardashian, for his blessing.

"He asked for her hand in marriage, and I was like, 'Literally, I want to cry now,'" Kris said. "It was so sweet and so tender. And then he said he went to your dad's grave and asked your dad [for permission], and I just lost it."

Robert, father to Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob Jr., died on September 30, 2003, at age 59, weeks after he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

Through tears, Kris added, "It's all happy, I just wish your dad was here to see it. I can hardly believe that it's the first time that she's getting married."

"That's really crazy that she hasn't been married before," Kim, agreed, before joking, "While I've had enough for all of us!"

Kourtney and Travis got engaged in October 2021 and had a "practice" wedding in Las Vegas after the Grammys earlier this month. The Poosh founder revealed during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she and Travis tried to get married legally at the Vegas chapel, but couldn't find a marriage license at 2 a.m., which is when they decided to take the leap.

Still, a wedding is coming, and hopefully so are more kids. Kourtney said on The Kardashians that she's going through IVF to try to get pregnant with Travis's child, and she told Access that she hopes they are able to welcome two kids together—making them a family of 10.
